Eyestrain is a common cause of headaches and fatigue. We spend so much time in front of our computer screens, iPhones, and TV screens these days that we often forget to rest our eyes. Many people forget to blink when staring at a computer screen. Some ways to alleviate eyestrain and the resulting headaches:
- Every ten minutes, refocus your eyes by looking out the window or around the office.
- Roll your eyes in circles, both directions, looking all the way up to the ceiling and all the way down to the floor.
- Once an hour, close your eyes and let your face relax.
- Rub your hands together and place your warm palms over your closed eyes. Inhale and exhale slowly.
- Gently open your eyes and focus on the farthest point you can see. Resume work when you feel ready.
